Filipa Carmo da Silva

Filipa Carmo da Silva is a South African singer and songwriter. She gained wide recognition for winning the RyanSeacrest.com's cover song competition for her rendition of One Direction's song, "Story of My Life". After five rounds, Carmo da Silva won the competition with her Pearl Harbor-themed music video directed by Kyle White ahead of UK The X Factor twins Jedward who were runners-up and USA The X Factor finalist Josh Levi, who came third.[1]

She has been accepted to study at the Cape Academy of Performing Arts in Cape Town following her recent matric in Pretoria, South Africa.[2]

She continues to promote her music on YouTube and SoundCloud and is working on her debut studio album. Her debut single is due out in May 2014.[3][4]
