Florence Carpenter Dieudonné was an early science fiction and fantasy writer, active in the late 1800s.[1] Her work is most notable for its prefiguring of twentieth-century Space Opera and its sympathetic portrayal of extraterrestrial life.[1][2] She was born on September 25, 1850 in New York state, lived in Washington, D.C., and died on April 17, 1927 in California.
