Forte Village Resort is a hotel and resort complex located in Sardinia, Italy founded in 1970.

Resort

Forte Village Resort was founded in 1970 by Charles Forte on the southern tip of Sardinia, Italy.[2][3] The complex is composed of seven different hotels,[4] with 771 rooms in total,[5] in addition to entertainment[4][6][7][8] and conference facilities.[9] The grounds have 55 acres of gardens,[10][11] and house the Thalasso del Forte Spa,[6][7][10][12][13] which contains twenty treatment rooms and employs forty therapists.[14][15] In the past, the resort has also run a Spa Festival at Harrod's in London, UK.[16] The general manager of the resort complex is Lorenzo Giannuzzi.[17]

Gastronomy

Forte Village has fourteen bars[18] and twenty-one restaurants.[4][19] In 2014, the kitchen at Forte Village became the first Italian restaurant to host a season of Hell's Kitchen. The winner of the series became the new executive chef of the Forte Village Resort. The show was hosted by Carlo Cracco, and the winner's kitchen is the first restaurant to be designed based on the theme of the show.[20][21]

Sports

The resort is host to the annual Challenge Forte Village Sardinia international triathlon[22] and the ITF Futures tennis tournament.[23] It was also host to some of the competitors and media during the 1990 World Cup.[24][25] The resort also contains a rugby academy,[26] cricket academy,[27] a football academy run by Chelsea FC, and academies for other sports as well.[4][28][29]

Recognition

Between 1998 and 2014, Forte Village Resort received the World's Leading Resort award from the World Travel Awards.[1][30]
