Gearóidín Bhreathnach

Gearóidín Breathnach (/ɡɑːrˈrɒn ˈbrɑːnɑː/ gar-ROJ-een-BRAH-nah; Irish pronunciation: [ˈɟaɾadʲin ˈβrahnˠax]) is an Irish singer that originally grew up in Rannafast in the rosses county Donegal and she now lives in Ardveen also in the Rosses.[1] She is renowned as a sean-nós singer and is a double winner of the Corn Uí Riada competition in Oireachtas na Gaeilge. Gearóidín is also an accomplished sennachie (/ˈʃɑːnəxɪ/ or /ˈsɛnəxɪ/), or seanchaí, a traditional Irish story teller. Her father Neddie Frank Mac Griana also a very famous seannachie and was a great source of her inspiration and love for the traditional Irish culture.
