Georgio Kyriacou (born 6 August 1990) is an English-born Greek Cypriot footballer.

Career

Norwich City FC

Born in Enfield, North London, Kyriacou joined Norwich City FC on a trial basis in July 2006. He featured in a behind closed doors friendly alongside the youth and reserve team. He also attracted interest from Portsmouth FC, Watford FC and Crystal Palace FC and was offered trial periods at all three clubs however couldn't participate due to an ankle cartilage injury which eventually required surgery.

Stevenage Borough FC

Kyriacou joined Stevenage FC in July 2007. Kyriacou joined as part of the club's youth system run in-conjunction with North Hertfordshire College. Peterborough United player George Boyd also progressed through the highly successful program.[1] Kyriacou spent the 2007/2008 season regaining his fitness following his injury, and returned making eight appearances in the Southern Counties Floodlit Youth League. In the 2008/2009 season, Kyriacou regained his best form and appeared regularly in the Football Conference Youth League. He was released from Stevenage at the end of the 2008/2009 season after failing to earn a new contract. He also made seventeen Football Conference Youth League appearances for Hitchin Town FC in the same season.[2]

Ventura County Fusion

Kyriacou spent the 2009/2010 searching for new opportunities and after a trial at Luton Town FC, he decided to sign for U.S.A based club Ventura County Fusion. Kyriacou was invited to Major League Soccer team Portland Timbers' invitational combine in January 2011 and shortly afterwards he signed with the 2009 PDL National Champions, Ventura County Fusion. Founded in 2006, the team plays in the USL Premier Development League and are best known for producing dozens of MLS players. In recent years they have participated in friendly games with the first teams of Swansea City FC, Manchester City FC and West Bromwich Albion FC.[3] After a spell in California with the Fusion, Kyriacou returned to England in the summer of 2011.

Glenn Hoddle Academy

In September 2011 Kyriacou played in a match for the Glenn Hoddle Academy under the management of Glenn Hoddle and his coaching staff. The academy disbanded shortly afterwards.

USL PRO

In January 2013, Kyriacou was invited to the 2013 United Soccer Leagues Pro Combine to train and compete at the world class facilities of IMG Academy in Florida. Now in its seventh year, the USL PRO Combine provides an opportunity for elite men's soccer players to showcase their talents for both domestic and international scouts and professional coaches. "We are delighted with the quality of player that has applied for this year's combine," USL National Technical Director Peter Mellor said. "For the second consecutive season we have had more than 400 applicants for the event, making the selection process a very difficult one, but we believe that a number of this year's group has what it takes to play in USL PRO in the upcoming season."[4]


Deportivo Coatepeque

On 16 December 2013 Kyriacou joined up with Deportivo Coatepeque for the start of pre-season in preparation for the second part of the Liga Nacional season which is the highest level of football in Guatemala and the national major league of Guatemalan football. On Thursday 19 December Kyriacou played in a 5–2 victory against second division side Americas FC. After eight days on trial Kyriacou left the club after failing to agree a contract.[5]

On Sunday 4 May 2014, Kyriacou joined up with Seattle Sounders U23's on a non-contract basis.
