Gilgit River
Gilgit River (Urdu: دریائے گلگت) is a tributary of the Indus River, and flows past the town of Gilgit. It is located in the Northern Areas of Gilgit–Baltistan, Pakistan. The Gilgit river starts from Shandur lake. The Gilgit River is also referred to as the Ghizar River.
Polo
Shandur is a place where an annual polo game is played between teams representing Chitral and Gilgit. Shandur is the route to Chitral from Gilgit in the Hindukush mountain range and has a height of about 12,000 ft (3,700 m).
