"Give It 2 You" was the third and final single released from Da Brat's debut album, Funkdafied.
Background
Produced by Jermaine Dupri and Manuel Seal, Jr., who used a sample of the Mary Jane Girls' "All Night Long", "Give It 2 You" was the final single from Da Brat's platinum-certified album Funkdafied after "Funkdafied" (#6 US) and "Fa All Y'all" (#37 US). It was released in October 1994 and became her third consecutive top 40 hit, peaking at No. 26 on the Billboard Hot 100, and her second to earn a RIAA certification, reaching gold status on June 14, 1996 for sales of 500,000 copies. The song's promotional music video featured appearances from Jermaine Dupri, MC Lyte, The Notorious B.I.G., Sean "Puffy" Combs, Mary J. Blige, Keith Murray, Goodie Mob, Too Short, T-Boz and Bill Bellamy, among others.
