Gorla Maggiore is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Varese in the Italian region Lombardy, located about 30 kilometres (19 mi) northwest of Milan and about 15 kilometres (9 mi) southeast of Varese. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 5,001 and an area of 5.3 square kilometres (2.0 sq mi).[1]
