Gyumri State Pedagogical Institute (GSPI) named after Mikael Nalbandian (Armenian Միքայել Նալբանդյանի անվան Գյումրիի պետական մանկավարժական ինստիտուտ) is a public university located in Gyumri, Shirak Province, Armenia.
History
The Institute was established in 1934. During the first admission year it engaged 16 lecturers and had ca. 100 students.[2] Its first rector was S. Movsisyan who enrolled best teachers from Gyumri and specialists from the capital city of Yerevan. At first it used to be a branch of Armenian State Pedagogical University, but since 1966 it has been an independent higher educational institution.
