Henrik Johan Walbeck

Henrik Johan Walbeck (1794-1822) was a Finnish geodesist and astronomer studying the size and figure of the Earth by means of grade measurement.

Born Oct. 11, 1793 in Åbo. In 1817, he was made a corresponding member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences. He committed suicide on Oct. 23, 1822, also in Åbo.[1]
