Higher Education Committee (Georgia House)
The House Higher Education Committee is a 17 member legislative body consisting of a chairman, a vice-chairman, a secretary, and 14 members. The Committee operates under a House mandate to evaluate legislation affecting the University System of Georgia.[1]
Scope and jurisdiction
The House Higher Education Committee is responsible for all legislation that influences the University System of Georgia including all universities, colleges, and programs of post-secondary education. The committee also has jurisdiction over the administration of student financial aid throughout the state.[1]
