Higher Institute of Ballet
The Higher Institute of Ballet is one of the institutes of art at the Academy of Arts in Giza, Egypt.
Establishment
Established in 1962, Higher Institute of Ballet is a technical institute affiliated with the Ministry of Culture, issued in that Presidential Decree No. 1439 was issued for the year 1959. Law No. 78 of 1969 and became a component of the Institute of the Academy of Arts under this law, and beyond the law No. 158 of 1981, issued on the reorganization of the academic objectives of the Institute are:
Objectives of the Institute
- Creating a generation of young people practiced in ballet on the basis of academic thought.
- Configure Ballet Egyptian you view the artwork aimed at the art of ballet.
Sections of the Institute
The Higher Institute of Ballet includes the following sections and each section set forth the presumption disciplines:
- Design Choreography and directed the ballet: featuring specialized output and design for the ballet and dance.
- Teaching Methods of Classical Dance: Includes methods of teaching all disciplines of Classical ballet - International folk dance - Pas de deux - Historical dance - Modern dance.
The dean of the institute is Ahlam Younes, director of classical ballet and modern dance.
Degrees
The Higher Institute of Ballet awards the following degrees:
- Bachelor's degree in the art of ballet in one of the disciplines listed.
- Graduate Diploma in a disciplinary shown.
- Master's degree in the art of ballet in a disciplinary shown.
- Doctoral degree in the arts, or PhD in philosophy arts disciplines in a set.
Works of the Institute
Students of the school have performed many of the famous Ballets such as Nutcracker, Giselle, Don Quixote, Les Sylphides, Swan Lake and others, and also participated in international competitions and festivals in addition to the Cairo Opera Ballet Company.
