The Hobart Chargers are a basketball club from Hobart, Tasmania that plays in the South East Australian Basketball League (SEABL). Hobart has competed in the SEABL since 1981 with the exception of a five-year period in the 1980s when the team progressed to the NBL; a SEABL team was re-entered in 1990. The Chargers were born in 1997 after the demise of the NBL's Hobart Devils.[1]
