Development
In June 2015, the BR-V prototype was unveiled on the 2015 Gaikindo Indonesia International Motor Show (GIIAS). It was the third concept car that is under the development of Honda Research and Development (R&D) Asia Pacific Co. Ltd. (HRAP), Thailand as well as PT. Honda R&D Indonesia.
According to Tomoki Uchida, director of Honda Prospect Motor in Indonesia, the derivation of the BR-V will serve as an answer to rising customer demands and needs for inexpensive SUV that rides higher, sleek design and capable to load 7 passengers at one trip.[1] As BR-V is targeted particularly for the Asian market, mass production will take place at several plants with different commencement date.
