Iarăș, (in the past Niarăș, Nyáraspatak in Hungarian) is one of the two villages belonging to commune Hăghig, in Covasna County, Romania. It is located in the west part of the county, in the Depression of Bârsa.
Demographics
The commune Hăghig has an ethnically mixed population. According to the 2011 Census it has a population of 2,258 (503 of whom live in Iarăș, counted in 2002). The general ethnical composition of these 2,258 is 41.18% or 930 are Romanians, 30.55% or 690 are Roma and 28.12% or 635 are Székely Hungarians.
