Inus Michael Kritzinger (born 13 May 1989) is a South African rugby union player, currently playing with the Griffons.[1] His regular position is scrum-half.
Career
Youth
He represented the Griffons at the 2005 Under-16 Grant Khomo week and Griffons Country Districts at the Under–18 Academy week competitions in both 2006 and 2007. In 2008, he played in the Under-19 Provincial Championship competition with the Free State Cheetahs and the following year he was included in the Under-21 squad, but also had a short spell with the Griquas Under-21s. He returned to the Free State Under-21s for 2010.
Varsity Shield
He also played for university side the CUT Ixias in the Varsity Shield competitions in 2011, 2012 and 2013. In 2011 and 2012, he was voted the "Back That Rocks"[2] and he was joint top try scorer in 2012 with 6 tries.[3] In 2013, he was voted the "Player That Rocks"[4] and he was the sole top try scorer with 8 tries.[5]
Griffons
In 2011, he joined the Griffons for their 2011 Currie Cup First Division season, making his debut against the Falcons[6] and his first start against the Border Bulldogs.[7]
He made four appearances for the Free State XV in the 2012 Vodacom Cup – including two starts at fly-half – but returned to the Griffons for the 2012 Currie Cup First Division. He also played for the Griffons in the 2013 Vodacom Cup and 2013 Currie Cup First Division competitions and then signed a senior contract for 2014.[8]
Representative Rugby
In 2013, he was initially included in a South Africa President's XV squad to play in the 2013 IRB Tbilisi Cup,[9] but was omitted from the final squad.[10]
