Isaac W. Williams

Isaac W. Williams was born in Charleston, South Carolina. Mr. Williams graduated from Bonds-Wilson High School in Charleston County in 1963. He also graduated from South Carolina State College with a degree in biology.

Mr. Williams worked as a youth leader in the South Carolina NAACP and was also the chairman of the NAACP National Youth Work Committee in the 1960s. During the civil rights movement in the 1960s he went to jail over 17 times. He also worked to make Martin Luther King's birthday a legal holiday in South Carolina and helped the campaign of James Clyburn.

For all of his service, he has received a number of awards from the NAACP and is found in Who's Who of America. He is married and has three children.
