Isaiah 17 is the seventeenth chapter of the Book of Isaiah in the Hebrew Bible or the Old Testament of the Christian Bible.[1][2] This book contains the prophecies spoken by the prophet Isaiah, and is a part of the Book of the Prophets.[3][4] This and the previous chapter form one prophecy on Moab.[5]

Verse 1
- The burden of Damascus.
- Behold, Damascus is taken away from being a city,
- and it shall be a ruinous heap.[8]
- Behold, Damascus is taken away from being a city,
- "And it shall be a ruinous heap" - See Isaiah 35:2. This took place under the kings of Assyria, and particularly under Tiglath-pileser. This was in the fourth year of Ahaz (2 Kings 16:9).[9][10]
