Jayne Louise Connery, (born 23 May 1967) is a former glamour model and businesswoman from Buckinghamshire. She has previously worked as a journalist and has interviewed many celebrities, including Dustin Hoffman, Joan Collins and Dolly Parton. In 2016, she appeared as a contestant on the seventeenth series of the Channel 5 reality television series Big Brother.

Big Brother

Connery entered the second house on Day 1.[1] As a collective, The Others were asked to target three housemates for the first eviction. On Day 1 they unknowingly targeted Laura, then on Day 2 they targeted Alex and then targeted Jackson on Day 3. On Day 13, she moved to the Main House for the first time after the two Houses merged together. On Day 21, she received 10 nominations from her fellow housemates, equalling the record of most nominations in a single week held by Big Brother 11's Sunshine, Big Brother 14's Dexter and Celebrity Big Brother 11's Heidi & Spencer. This therefore meant she was nominated for the third eviction. [2] She survived this eviction on Day 25.[3] On Day 42, Connery was nominated once again by her fellow housemates, however in a twist on Day 43, she was saved from eviction and was replaced with Andy instead.[4] Jayne became a fan favourite due to her no nonsense attitude and hilarious diary room entries.[5] Jayne left the House on Day 50 the last day having triumphantly reached the finals.

Personal life

Jayne was widowed at 32. Connery now dedicates her life to raising much awareness on dementia care failings and she is also a prolific fundraiser for dementia charity. Her mother, Ellen lives with dementia and Jayne campaigns for CCTV to be put in all care homes because of the bad experiences her mum had in the care homes she was placed in. Connery eventually took her mum out of the care system and brought her back home continuing dementia awareness. Her CCTV IN ALL Dementia Care Homes Campaign has attracted thousands of supporters [6] Connery also did a parachute jump for Dementia UK and an abseil and continues to raise funds for Dementia UK. She went on Big Brother to raise awareness for dementia and she is now a prolific dementia awareness campaigner [7]
