Jiadong

Jiadong Township (Chinese: 佳冬鄉; pinyin: Jiādōng Xiāng; Wade–Giles: Chia1-tung1 Hsiang1) is a rural township in Pingtung County, Taiwan.
History
Formerly called Katangkha (Chinese: 茄苳腳; Pe̍h-ōe-jī: Ka-tang-kha).[1]
Geography
It has a population total of 20,247 and an area of 31 km2. Jiadong Township is located west of Pingtung County, Taiwan middle of the south coast, east and southeast adjacent Fangliao Township, northeast even Sinpi Township, northwest even Woodside Township, southwest coast of Taiwan Strait. Hongo is located in the southern part of Pingtung Plain, flat, flowing through the junction of Woodside Creek township Woodside Township, the climate is tropical monsoon climate.

Economy
The residents of industry, agriculture and fisheries, but serious over-pumping of groundwater, making the township to become Taiwan's western coastal subsidence one of the most serious areas.
