Jimmy Tatum (born in San Diego, California) is a former Major League Baseball was the 13,846th player in MLB history. First Baseman, Third Baseman, Catcher and Outfielder. Played for Major League Mangers Phil Garner, Don Baylor, Kevin Kennedy, Katsunori Nomura, Bruce Bochy, Bobby Valentine and Tim Johnson.

He was drafted by the San Diego Padres 76 pick overall in 1985 Major League Baseball draft

Tatum was the American Association MVP and batting title winner in 1992, batting .329 with 19 home runs and 101 RBI. Lost American Association tripe crown to Steve Balboni formerly of the Royals and Yankees, who hit more home runs. Was a 4 time All Star. Had his number retired in Colorado in 2004.

Tatum made his major league debut with the Milwaukee Brewers on September 18, 1992, witnessed Robyn Younts 3,000 hit off Jose Mesa of the Cleveland Indians. appeared in his final game with the New York Mets do to a knee injury on June 11, 1998

Tatum was a member of the inaugural Colorado Rockies team in 1993.

He hit the first grand slam in Colorado Rockies history on May 4, 1993 Wrigley Field Chicago off former brewer teammate Dan Plesac. Current MLB Network analyst. The late Harry Carey made the call.

He also played in Japan for the Yakult Swallows JBL (1997) LG Twins KBO (2000)

Tatum is the only player in Baseball History to play the last minor league baseball game and first Major League Baseball game in the Mile High City of Denver, Colorado.
