Joe Hayes (born 1963 in Clonoulty, County Tipperary) is a retired Irish sportsperson. He played hurling with his local club Clonoulty-Rossmore and with the Tipperary senior inter-county team in the 1980s and 1990s. Now a retired Garda, he played with Monaghan in the mid 1990s as his job as Garda has brought him to Monaghan where in 1997 he took the county to an All-Ireland junior hurling title as player-manager.
