John Adrian Pienaar (born 2 October 1956) is a British journalist who is currently Deputy Political Editor for BBC News, and presenter of Pienaar's Politics on BBC Radio 5 Live.
Early life
Pienaar's parents, Eric and Johanna Pienaar, were both born in the Netherlands. He was educated at Ravens Wood School in Bromley and then studied at Highbury College.
Career
Pienaar began his journalistic career at South London Press, before becoming an Old Bailey correspondent and then writing an angling column, even though he himself was never an angler.[1] In the early 1990s, he was working as a political correspondent for The Guardian in the Press Gallery of the House of Commons.
