Jonah Lowe (born 9 May 1996) is a New Zealand rugby union player who currently plays as a midfield back or wing for Hawke's Bay in New Zealand's domestic Mitre 10 Cup.[1][2]
Early Career
Raised in Hastings, Lowe initially attended secondary school at St. John's College in the town, before moving to Auckland for his final 2 years of high school which were spent at King's College. While there he turned out for the King's College first XV, helping them reach the semi-finals of Auckland's 1A competition in 2013. He also played for Auckland and the Blues at under-18 level.[3]
Senior Career
After graduating high school, Lowe headed back home to his native Hawke's Bay where he played club rugby with the Clive rugby club. He made the Hawke's Bay Magpies wider training group ahead of the 2015 ITM Cup and managed to get on the field 3 times during the season, including 1 appearance in the starting XV. He was a full squad member in 2016, cementing himself as a regular in the side in what turned out a disappointing campaign for the Magpies that culminated in relegation down to the Mitre 10 Cup Championship for 2017. While his team's performances as a whole may have been underwhelming, Lowe's personal stats were excellent, starting all 10 games during the season and scoring 5 tries.[2]
International
Lowe was a New Zealand Schoolboys representative in 2014 and a member of the New Zealand Under-20 side which competed in the 2016 World Rugby Under 20 Championship.[3][2]
