Jonathan Ahdout (born March 18, 1989) is an American actor.

Personal background

Ahdout was born in Santa Monica, California on March 18, 1989.[1] His parents are Yahya Ahdout and Jacqueline Hayempour, Iranian Jews who left Iran to go to the U.S. with their baby daughter (J. Ahdout's older sister) in 1982.[2][3] in Tehran, Iran. He grew up in New York City, and studied cinematography at the University of California, Santa Barbara. They went to Pakistan and then on to Israel.[4] Ahdout resides in Brentwood with his parents, his sister Melody (born in Iran) and brother Daniel (born in California). He attended Sinai Akiba Academy and Harvard-Westlake School. He attended the University of Southern California (USC). He was double majoring in Business and Film.[5]

Film work

Ahdout's acting career started with a role in the film House of Sand and Fog, in which he played the part of Esmail Behrani.[6] In 2005, he played the part of Behrooz Araz in the television series 24. Coincidentally, he portrayed the son of a character played by Shohreh Aghdashloo in both roles.[7][8][9] He has said in an interview that both of them were surprised to learn the other had been cast on 24.[10] In 2007 he had a role as the shepherd in the TV show The Unit.[11]
