Jundy Maraon (born February 25, 1985) also known as "batang gwaping" is a Filipino professional boxer.
He is currently the WBO Asia Pacific bantamweight champion and currently resides in Blancia St. Molave, Zamboanga del Sur. He's married to Naomie Maraon in Talisay City, Cebu last June 9, 2011. They got one handsome kid Xavier Niel who will be 2 years old this coming February 13, 2013.
Boxing career
Maraon made his professional debut on July 26, 2003, defeating Rogelio Oro at Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay, Philippines.
Maraon has been inactive in boxing for almost two years now after beating Jay Mondejar via 6th round TKO in May 2009. He is suffering from serious swelling in his left forefinger knuckle that gave him pain every time he hit an opponent's head. This was already referred to doctors in the US and the Philippines, and there was nothing they could do. Then recently, his father, who was mainly behind his involvement with boxing, died.
Last September 21, 2012, Jundy Maraon first professional boxing match in the United States against, Ernie "The Gladiator" Marquez with a record of (9-11-2 KO's 3) from Fort Morgan, Colorado U.S.A. was scheduled for a 6 rounds match at Chumash Casino, Santa Ynez, California U.S.A. Jundy Maraon opponent was "TKO" on the 3rd round, winning his fight with a professional boxing record of (15-0-1 KO's 12) and still the current "WBO Asia Pacific Bantamweight Champion". Maraon, is back in training and getting ready for his next fight.
