Kamensky District (Russian: Ка́менский райо́н) is an administrative district (raion), one of the thirty in Sverdlovsk Oblast, Russia.[1] As a municipal division, it is incorporated as Kamensky Urban Okrug.[4] The area of the district is 2,146 square kilometers (829 sq mi).[5] Its administrative center is the city of Kamensk-Uralsky[2] (which is not administratively a part of the district).[9] Population: 28,111 (2010 Census);[6] 29,669 (2002 Census);[10] 32,307 (1989 Census).[11]
Administrative and municipal status
Within the framework of administrative divisions, Kamensky District is one of the thirty in the oblast.[1] The city of Kamensk-Uralsky serves as its administrative center,[2] despite being incorporated separately as an administrative unit with the status equal to that of the districts.[9]
As a municipal division, the district is incorporated as Kamensky Urban Okrug.[4] The City of Kamensk-Uralsky is incorporated separately from the district as Kamensk-Uralsky Urban Okrug.[12]
