Kathleen S. Connell
Kathleen S. Connell (born 24 May 1937) is a Rhode Island politician. She was Secretary of State of Rhode Island between 1987 and 1993.[1] She started her political career as a member of the Middletown, Rhode Island school committee, where she served for 13 years, and the Middletown town council. She served one term in the Rhode Island Senate before running for Secretary of State.[2] During her State Office position, one of her most noteworthy achievements was saving historical records in the Rhode Island state capitol's basement. As of 2007, she is the Rhode Island Director of AARP. She is the widow of Gerald (Jerry) Connell.
Connell was a 2013 recipient of the Isabelle Ahearn O'Neill Award.[3]
