Kattegat Bridge
The Kattegat Bridge is a proposed bridge across the Kattegat between Jutland and Zealand in Denmark. It is planned to go either between Odder Municipality on Jutland over Samsø to Røsnæs in Kalundborg Municipality on Zealand (two bridges around 35 km long together), or between the Djursland peninsula and Sjællands Odde on Zealand (one bridge around 40 km long).
An infrastructure commission appointed by the government proposed the bridge, suggested to go over Samsø, in 2007. It is proposed to have both a road and a railway. The costs have been estimated to be 100-130 billion DKK. A reason to build it is that the present Great Belt Fixed Link is congested, a condition which is expected to worsen. There is no decided timeframe for the Kattegat Bridge.
