The Kuwait International Model United Nations (KIMUN) is an annual Model United Nations conference held in Kuwait. It is the only international conference in Kuwait, and high school students from around the Middle East and the world gather and debate world issues and simulate the United Nations. This conference was pioneered in 2016 by Sarah Tahir and has been continued on annually. It is a unique high school conference in that it is completely student led.[1]

2016 Conference

The first KIMUN conference was held on 3 March 2016. A mixture of schools were present, most of them being local. The conference had the theme of Managing Globalization, and debated issues pertaining to commissions such as, Disarmament, Human rights, Territorial disputes, Security Council, Environmental, and the Economic and Social Council.[2]

The conference was led by Sarah Tahir, the Secretary General, and Aysha Al-Bader, the Deputy Secretary General.[3]

2017 Conference

The 2017 Conference is scheduled to be held on April 13–14, 2017. It is currently headed by Aysha Al-Bader, the Secretary General, Seungku Lee, the Deputy Secretary General, Raj Banerji, the Deputy Secretary General and Marina Habashy, the USG Delegate Affairs[4][5]
