Kuwalda (Russian: Кувалда, translated as "sledgehammer") is a Russian thrash metal band from a small town of Spas-Klepiki in Ryazan Oblast.
It is known for its brutal lyrics which in fact are parodies of typical metal band lyrics. The main characters of their songs are usually maniacs, mental patients and crazy drunk drivers. The band first received attention after some of their videos were aired on MTV-Russia in a show called "Shit Parade". Even though those videos were made fun of it helped the band to get nationwide promotion.
