Lecithocera palpella

Lecithocera palpella is a moth in the Lecithoceridae family. It was described by Bradley in 1961. It is found on Guadalcanal.^[1]

The wingspan is about 14 mm. The forewings are chamois, sparsely sprinkled with aniline-black scales, most heavily in the terminal area. There is a weak, small, aniline-black discal stigma in the middle of the cell, and a weak transverse concentration of aniline-black scales at the end of the cell indicating a second stigma. The base of the costa is broadly and strongly marked with aniline-black, a concentration of aniline-black scales from the middle of the costa to about four-fifths forming a weak, elongate marking. There is also a pre-apical patch of pure ground colour free from dark coloured scales. The hindwings are chamois at the apex, otherwise greyish cream-buff.^[2]
