Levin Furniture is a Pittsburgh area furniture retailer. The company was founded in 1920 by Jessie Levin in Mount Pleasant, Pennsylvania as a general sales clearance center. In the 1940s, the Levin family phased out other items and began to concentrate on furniture. However, not until 1978, did the group expand from a large single store to a big box chain. In 1989, the company moved its operations into the Cleveland, Ohio market, which nearly doubled their size. Currently, the company features six regular stores in Pennsylvania and seven in Ohio, plus a clearance center directly next to their original Mount Pleasant store and a bedding center in the Pittsburgh neighborhood of Squirrel Hill.[1]
