Liman Kati
Liman Kati is a new village formed in the outskirt of royal town Kuala Kangsar, Perak, Malaysia. Economy acitivities depend on the rubber plantation in small scale. The community is formed by Malays, Chinese and Indians with the majoirty of Chinese as rubber tapper and groccery businessman.
Education
SRJK Liman Kati is the primary school in the village. Residents can study in the SRJK Tsung Wah in Kuala Kangsar town. In the secodary school education, residents choose to study in Kuala Kangsar. SMJK Tsung Wah is the common choice of secondary school.
Demographics
Chinese is the majority population in the village and followed by Malays, Indians and foreigners who married to residents or workers.
Economy
Plantation is the main economy activities including rubber, oil palm, fruits (durian, rambutan, papaya), vegetable.
Politics
Mohamed Nazri bin Abdul Aziz is the parliment representative in Padang Regas and he hold the titile of Dato' Seri due to his contribution in politics. Liman Kati is part of Padang Regas electoral area politically.
Notable people
- Lam Wei Haur (Professor Dr) - Lam studied in Liman Kati in the primary school. He graduated with BEng (Hons) Civil Engineering and MSc Computer Science in Universiti Teknologi Malaysia and PhD in Queen's University Belfast. Lam is a former associate professor in University of Malaya recruited by former Vice Chancellor of University of Malaya, Professor Tan Sri Dr. Ghauth Jasmon and a former visiting scholar in Oxford University. Lam is one of the High Impact Research (HIR) grant scientist who worked on the HIR47 Sustainable Ocean Energy and Waterway Developments in the Straits of Malacca under supervison of Dato' Lam Sai Kit. Lam is now the full professor in Tianjin University and continues to promote the sustainable ocean development.
