Lisa Jai Yamanaka (Japanese: リサジャイ山中);(born June 16, 1983) is a Canadian actress and voice actress. Lisa Yamanaka is of Japanese descent. She is known as the voice of Wanda Li from The Magic School Bus and Yoko in Timothy Goes to School. Yamanaka is also known for her work on Babar and Resident Evil 2.[1] She is also credited as Lisa Boynton.[2]

Career

Yamanaka was born and currently lives in Toronto, Canada. Before that, she lived in Los Angeles, California in the United States in 2011. Before that, she lived in Toronto, Ontario until 2008. Lisa Yamanaka attended Central Commerce Collegiate Institute in Toronto, ON. Lisa Jai was awarded The Unsung Hero Award by the City of Toronto 2012 for her advocacy work in diversity in the mainstream media. Lisa Jai debuted her first Theater production in the City of Watts, CA As Isela Sanchez in award winning playwright Lynn Manning's 'The Unrequited: A tale between two Worlds' with Cornerstone Theater and Watts Village Theater. Cast as a lead role in 'Runaway Dream' as Linn, directed, written, and produced by Daniel Abreu (Danny Anthony Productions) Recently, she has become an advocate for disabled actors, having developed rheumatoid arthritis.[3] Currently, Lisa Jai focuses her time on Theater, independent films, and advocacy. Lisa Jai is also a published poet and spoken-word artist: performing at the inaugural event Poetic Fashion. She has also performed spoken word in Los Angeles, New York, and Swaziland, SA
