Agnes Lee  United Kingdom The brig was wrecked at Cardigan with the loss of nine of her eleven crew. She was on a voyage from Cork to Liverpool, Lancashire.[1]

Victoria  United Kingdom The schooner was in collision with the barque Pascoe Grenfell ( United Kingdom) and foundered in the Bristol Channel off Port Eynon, Glamorgan. Her crew were rescued.[2]

Friendship  United Kingdom The sloop sprang a leak and foundered 7 nautical miles (13 km) south of the Dudgeon Sandbank, in the North Sea. Her crew survived.[3]

Hannah  United Kingdom The brig was holed by ice and foundered in the Gulf of Saint Lawrence with the loss of 49 lives. She was on a voyage from Newry, County Antrim to Quebec City, Canada.

Maria  United Kingdom foundered in the ice in the Gulf of Saint Lawrence, and out of the entire number on board only nine of the passengers, and five of the crew were saved.[4]

St John  United Kingdom Sailing from Galway to Boston the brig was driven onto Grampus Ledge in Cohasset [5][6]

Ship Country Description
Opzeeman's Hoop  Netherlands The skûtsje capsized in the North Sea off Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, United Kingdom with the loss of six of her eight crew. She came ashore the next day at Southwold, Suffolk, United Kingdom.[3]

Arpenteur  United Kingdom Registered in Adelaide the ship was carrying whale oil when there was a fearful gale’ (Perth Gazette, 23 November 1849: 2b) from the north-east drove it ashore on Cheynes Beach, Western Australia and the Arpenteur became a total wreck.[7]

SV Oneida  United States En route from New York City to Le Havre loaded with cotton and hops, ran aground near Guernsey Channel Islands. The ship was lost but part of the cargo was salvaged.[8] [9]
