Madhavrao Bhawat High School (MBHS) is a co-educational school located in Vile Parle, a suburb of Mumbai, India. As of 2016 the Principal was Mrs Smita Lele and the Vice-principal was Mrs Asha Shukla. Mr Umashankar Tiwari is the school supervisor.

History

Since its founding in 1952 by Mangala M Bhagwat, MBHS has been run by Vile Parle Mahila Sangh. The secondary high school is named after the businessman and social worker Shri Madhavrao Bhagwat.

MBHS has a library, a gym, a primary school and a pre-primary school for toddlers called Shishuvihar. Most of the students are the residents of Vile Parle though there are students who come from other suburbs like Andheri and Jogeshwari The school has a three storied building.

Houses and Sports

The students are divided among four houses - Yellow, Red, Blue and Green. There are interhouse competitions in which the students from all houses participate. The students who win the competitions win points for their house. Every house has a captain and vice captain. At the end of the academic year the house with highest points wins a trophy.

Many students from the school participate in the Interstate as well as National level competitions.

Academics and Magazine

The school has maintained its record of 100% result in SSC Annual Board Exams for 32 years [except for 1993 with 99% result). From 1981-2009 only three students have failed the S.S.C Exams.

In 2008 MBHS went on to MBHS and Jr. College (Science stream).

The first class had 23 students (11th standard 2008-09 with class teacher Mrs.Amrit Khan) which reduced to 21 (12th standard 2009-10 with class teacher Mrs.Sushma Salvi).

The school Publishes a yearly magazine named 'Kshitij The Horizon' for the students.
