Malavalli is a taluk in Mandya district in the Indian state of Karnataka. The headquarters of Malavalli taluk is the town of the same name. Pincode of Malavalli is 571430. [1]
Geography
Malavalli town is located at 12°23′N 77°05′E / 12.38°N 77.08°E.[2] It has an average elevation of 610 metres (2001 feet).
Attractions
Malavalli town is a very vibrant and active rural market. It stretches for a whole length of 4 km. There are two colleges in Malavalli. The government college is a little away from the town and Shanthi College is in the very middle of the town. Nearby are the Shivanasamudra waterfalls.[3]

As of 2001 India census,[5] Malavalli had a population of 35,800. Males constitute 51% of the population and females 49%. Malavalli has an average literacy rate of 64%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 69%, and female literacy is 58%. In Malavalli, 13% of the population is under 6 years of age. It has 186 villages as per 2001 census.
