Marathe

Marathe (Marathi: मराठे) is an Indian Hindu surname. It is typically from the western state of Maharashtra and is pronounced "Ma-Raa-They" with a hard T. It is a surname found amongst the Chitpavan Brahmins,[1] Chandravanshi/Somvanshi Kshatriya Marathas and Konkani Goud Saraswat Brahmins.[2]

Kokani Marathe clan is originated from kurli ghonsari village of kanakavli, sindhudurga district of Maharashtra.Some of them migrated to the village called Mosam, Rajapur know as "Mosam che Marathe" means Marathe from Mosam.
