Marco Palladino (born September 12, 1988) is a Serbian-Italian inventor, software developer and internet entrepreneur, best known for co-founding Mashape, the marketplace for Cloud APIs.

Career

Palladino has been co-founder at MemboxX, an online service for storing documents and small piece of personal data (like telephone numbers and credit card numbers).[1] Then he co-founded Mashape, an API marketplace,[2][3] and he moved to San Francisco, USA.[4] The company got an angel round from early YouTube employees in 2010, and a 1.5MM seed round from top Silicon Valley investors, totaling 1.6MM in funding from prominent institutional investors including New Enterprise Associates (NEA), Index Ventures and individuals including Jeff Bezos and Eric Schmidt's Innovation Endeavors.[5] As of 2014 over 100,000 developers across more than 100 countries were using Mashape.[6] Later Mashape closed $8.5M in SeriesA co-led by Index Ventures and CRV, with Stanford University participating.

Palladino is also one of the main contributors[7] of Kong, the most popular open-source API Gateway platform as of 2016.[8]
