Mariano Lazcano (c.1770-1840s) was an notary and accountant of the Court of Auditors of Buenos Aires during the Viceroyalty of Rio de la Plata.[1]
Biography
Mariano Lazcano was born in Montevideo, Uruguay, member of the Uruguayan patrician family dedicated to trade and government.[2] He began his studies in Buenos Aires and was a graduate of notary and accountant in the University of Saint Francis Xavier.[3] In 1805, Lazcano was appointed official 1' in the administration of Aduana by Justo Pastor Lynch, Contador Mayor of Buenos Aires Customs.[4]
During the British invasions of the River Plate occurred in 1806 and 1807, Lazcano participated in the defense and reconquest of Buenos Aires.[5]
Mariano Lazcano married on September 14, 1796 with María Dominga Canaveris, sister of the Third Order of Saint Dominic, daughter of Juan de Canaveris and Bernarda Catalina de Esparza.[6]
