Mathias Emilio Pettersen (born April 3, 2000) is a Norwegian ice hockey player who plays as a centre for American club Omaha Lancers.[1]

Due to his style of play and talent, Pettersen has been dubbed the "new Zuccarello"[2] and the "Martin Ødegaard of hockey" by the media.[3] Furthermore, Scandinavian supporters and newspapers have been covering Pettersen's career since he was 6-year-old.[4]

Playing career

Pettersen played minor hockey for Manglerud Star and Lørenskog IK before moving to the United States in 2014 to play for South Kent School of the United States Premier Hockey League. He signed a tender with Omaha Lancers of the United States Hockey League on 4 January 2016.[1]

Personal life

His father, Flemming Pettersen, is a former ice hockey player who played for Manglerud Star and Spektrum Flyers in the Norwegian league.
