Mehatpur Basdehra is a town and a nagar panchayat in Una district in the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. It is situated in the PUNJAB region of Indian Subcontinent.It is located on the border of Punjab. It is 11 KM away from district Una. And 6 KM from Nangal. The place is famous for Industrial Area.
Demographics
As of 2001 India census,[1] Mehatpur Basdehra had a population of 8686. Males constitute 54% of the population and females 46%. Mehatpur Basdehra has an average literacy rate of 66%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 70%, and female literacy is 62%. In Mehatpur Basdehra, 14% of the population is under 6 years of age. Mehatpur is the border town of Himachal pradesh. It has many National banks and many Hotels as well. Most of the poluation is of Bhraman and Rajput community.Mehatpur is one of the growing industiral area, With two major wine companies one is limited and other private limited. Even one of the major industrial recyclers are also active in Mehatpur (Ashish kaushal) is working as an active recycler for making social welfare.
