Michael Barrett Freeman (born August 4, 1987) is an American professional baseball infielder and outfielder for the Seattle Mariners of Major League Baseball (MLB). He made his MLB debut with the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2016.
Career
Freeman attended Edgewater High School in Orlando, Florida. Out of high school he was drafted by the San Diego Padres in the 41st round of the 2006 Major League Baseball Draft. He did not sign and played college baseball at Clemson University.[1] After his junior year he was drafted by the Arizona Diamondbacks in the 36th round of the 2009 MLB Draft but did not sign and returned to Clemson. He was then drafted by the Diamondbacks in the 11th round of the 2010 draft and signed.[2]
Freeman was called up to the majors for the first time on July 17, 2016.[3]
Freeman was claimed off waivers by the Seattle Mariners on August 1, 2016.
