Mike Schmid

Mike Schmid is an American singer/songwriter, as well as the keyboard player and backing vocalist for Miley Cyrus and many other pop acts. He began his career in the band Aggressive Little Juice Machine. He then went on to release his debut self-titled album in 2001.[1] In 2006 he released "The High Cost of Living (A Love Story)" and the Christmas EP "Snow Day". In 2008 the album "The House We Built" was released[1] and "Let It Out" released in 2011.[2]

Mike is the keyboardist for Miley Cyrus, and has been playing with her since she was Hannah Montana at 13 years old. In addition, he is the bandleader, keyboardist and background vocalist for Troye Sivan, and has worked with Broods, Daya, Cassidee Pope, Jordan Fisher, Sabrina Carpenter, Laura Morano, Christina Grimmie, Betty Who, Jonas Brothers, Billy Ray Cyrus, Sheryl Crow, Who Is Fancy, Heffron Drive, American Idol's Jessica Sanchez, Colton Dixon and Stefano Langone, Kenna, Chantal Kreviazuk, Van Hunt, Aly & AJ, the Corrs and many more.

He has also written and sung on many dance collaborations with DJs all over the world, like "No One Can Touch You Now" with Cosmic Gate, "Follow" with Noah Neiman, "Restart" with KhoMha and "Flash X" with ATB.

Mike has been on many other tours, including: The Bangerz Tour (Miley Cyrus), The Blue Neighborhood Tour (Troye Sivan), and many more.

Mike has played on many shows, such as The Tonight Show (with Troye Sivan), The Ellen Show, The Voice: Belgium, James Corden, and many more.

Mike won the grand prize in the prestigious USA Songwriting Competition with his song "Can You See All the Colors." This song is featured on his album, "Let It Out."

His songs have been played on "So You Think You Can Dance," "Flashpoint," "CSI:Miami," "Jersey Shore," "Friday Night Lights," "Made," "The Real World," "All My Children," "The Bad Girls Club," "Charmed," "Everwood," "Felicity," "The Black Donnellys," in the film "The Ultimate Gift" and many more.

Mike has been featured as a keyboardist in many videos. Some include "The Backyard Sessions" videos, "Troye Sivan,Youth Acoustic Sydney Session", and has played at the World Music Awards alongside Miley Cyrus.

Mike is married and currently has a young son and reside in Southern California.

Other than his regular job with Cyrus, he also works as a keyboard player and backing singer for several other artists. He has played with the Jonas Brothers, Billy Ray Cyrus, Sheryl Crow, American Idol alums Jessica Sanchez, Colton Dixon and Stefano Langone, Van Hunt, Aly & AJ, the Corrs and more. He has also contributed to the albums of Right the Stars, Arden Cho, Jen Foster, Sara Ramirez, Connie Kim, Rob Giles and many others . Mike appeared in the Best of Both Worlds Tour 2007-2008, Wonder World Tour 2009 and the Gypsy Heart Tour 2011 alongside Cyrus.[5] He has also made numerous appearances on Good Morning America, American Idol, The X Factor, Jay Leno and other television shows supporting Cyrus and other artists.

Mike attended Waynesboro Area Senior High School, Waynesboro, PA.[6] He graduated from Berklee College of Music in Boston in 2001 with a degree in song writing.[7][8]
