The Miniature Jersey is a miniature breed of cattle, originating from Jersey in the Channel Islands.

History

They are considered to be the original Jersey cattle breed.[1] The Miniature Jersey evolved from the North coast of the island. This has more rugged and steep terrain than the South side, where the cattle tended to be larger in size.[2]

Characteristics

The Miniature Jersey will typically give 1-1.5 gallons of milk per day, in the height of production. They are typically between 36 and 42 inches tall and weigh between 500 and 800 pounds.[3]
