Mofazzal Haider Chaudhuri (July 23, 1926 – December 14, 1971) was a Bangladeshi educationist and essayist.[1]

Background and education

Chaudhuri was born in Khalishpur village in Noakhali District to Bazlur Rahim Chaudhuri and Mahfuza Khatun. He passed the Entrance examination in 1942 under Calcutta University and first place in the Higher Secondary examination from Dhaka College in 1944. He completed his bachelor's and master's in Bengali language from Calcutta University in 1946 and University of Dhaka in 1953 respectively.[1]

Career

Chaudhuri began his career in 1948 as a scriptwriter of Radio Dhaka. He then worked as a faculty member of Jagannath College, Notre Dame College and University of Dhaka. He went to London for higher studies in phonetics in 1958.[1]
