Monivae College
Monivae College is a Roman Catholic secondary coeducational day and boarding school in Hamilton, Victoria, Australia. Set on 48 hectares, the college was founded in 1954.
The high school is recognised within the district for its high quality facilities. Monivae is also recognised as a highly competent school in the area of sport and academic learning. In 2007 604 students attended Monivae, 70 of whom are boarders from both around the country and further abroad. Although, with the new students in 2007, Monivae has been able to break the 700 mark on the population of the school.
In January, 2010, Mark McGinnity became principal of the college. The previous Principal, Bernard Neal, who had been appointed in 2000, incorporated many changes in the school during his time as Principal including the highly acclaimed EXCEL program which is designed for a smooth transition from primary to secondary school. He was quoted as saying "We are not a perfect school, rather a great school, although we are on a deliberate path towards improvement."
In 2008 the school celebrated 9 years of mission experiences and to celebrate were visited by delegations from schools in Kiribati and Tapini who were visiting Australia to attend World Youth Day 2008.
