Monte Cristo - The Musical is a musical based on the novel The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas.
The music is by Leon Parris and the lyrics and book are by Leon Parris and Jon Smith. The showcase productions[1] were between August 26-27, 2005, in the Patrick Theatre at the Birmingham Hippodrome, England.
Produced by YMT:UK, Stephen Jameson[2] was the director. The role of Mercédès was played by Alicia Bennett.[3] The role of Luigi Vampa was played by Sami Lamine.[4] A concept recording was released on March 12, 2006.
No English-language premiere, despite the concept recording in English, has been announced.
