Moveboxer
Moveboxer is an American web-based company founded by entrepreneur Jennifer Morehead. Moveboxer helps people find a reputable mover and get a quote for their move.[1] The website combines Yelp ratings with the price estimate so the user can make an informed decision about their move.[2] Moveboxer is the home base for people during their move and connects people with up to three reputable movers, budget planning, customized to-do lists, calendars, and an easy way to cancel utilities.
In 2013, Moveboxer expanded its offerings to become a personal relocation platform for people who are moving. Prior to the launch of Moveboxer, its founders created a home inventory service called Lockboxer. Lockboxer helped people prepare for a move by letting users sell directly to eBay and record a list of their donations from a list of their belongings.[3][4]
Lockboxer was recognized by multiple publications including the Wall Street Journal, Mashable, and ProgrammableWeb.[5] Lockboxer was recognized in Mashable's Spark of Genius series in August 2011.[6]
The umbrella company for Moveboxer is Moveboxer LLC. The company’s headquarters are in Evanston, IL. Lockboxer was launched in July 2011 and it ceased operations in February 2013. The first version of Moveboxer was launched in April 2012 and the updated version featuring the personal relocation platform was launched in July 2013.
